Fine-scale genetic structure of <em>Magnolia iltisiana</em> in forest regeneration sites with a history of selective logging

Background: Selective logging is a frequent practice in the Tropical Montane Cloud Forest which can impact forest regeneration and genetic makeup of successive generations trees. The spatial clustering genetically related individuals, fine-scale structure (FSGS), develop from reduction gene dispersal decrease number reproductive individuals at local scale due to selective logging.
 Questions: In sites with history logging, does FSGS differ site without such history? Is stronger seedlings saplings relative juveniles adults? diversity similar among life stages sites?
 Studied species: Magnolia iltisiana an endemic tree.
 Study dates: Sierra de Manantlan Biosphere Reserve, Jalisco, Mexico.

 Methods: We evaluated diversity, structure, across four (seedlings, saplings, juveniles, adults) by genotyping 211 seven nuclear microsatellite loci two one conserved site.
 Results: found statistically significant only for while no evidence was detected site. No differences estimates were stages.
 Conclusions: Our study not suggest effect on contrasted conditions pattern earlier M. iltisiana.
